A SHORT NOTE ON THE ARTIST

Luc Piron is a wonderful artist and a very kind person. I met him first in the context of an exhibition in Southern Germany in which I was participating as well, as a poet. Luc was born in 1952; he studied art at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Mechelen and the Royal Academy for Fine Arts in Antwerp. In addition to being an independent artist, he was also a professor of etching and computer art, and a professeur díhonneur at the Royal Institute for the Visual Arts (RHOK) in Brussels. prints, animation videos,  and graphite (respectively graphite & chalk) paintings of surprising strength.  He received many prices, among them the Singer Friden Price, for Monumental Paintings, the renowned Pro Civitate Prize for Graphic Arts, the Laureaat Ringer
Diamonds for Graphic Arts, and the Belgian State Price for Graphic Arts. He participated in many group exhibitions and had noteworthy solo exhibitions, in Belgium, The Netherlands, and Germany. In recent years, the main emphasis of his artistic work was focused on both digital prints, animation videos,  and graphite (respectively graphite & chalk) paintings of surprising strength.
