Gary Maahs, UTE HARING'S PRESSESCHAU SERIES (Part 4)

                 Presseschau 3

Presseschau 3 seems to depict, in grey tones (that is, black and white), a scene from a station of New York's elevated railway.
The passengers are busy entering or leaving the station. An added element, in light brown and blue, has been printed above the black and white image of the station. This colored element crosses again the bottom margin of the black and white print. Its addition is meaningful.
It represents two female "persons" in the foreground who are flanking a "man", in fact, a skeleton.  Apparently, the two are busy stabilizing it in vertical positon, between them, just like two buddies would attempt to stabilize a drunken friend while trying to accompany him on his way home. The skeleton confronts the people in the station which all three of them seem ready to enter. The accompanying "women", to the left and right of the figure that is symbolizing DEATH, turn their heads, looking back at us - the audience.
